The internet is a magical place. I often find myself lost deep within it's walls, browsing website after website looking for what, sometimes, I don't even know. One thing I can tell you is that, if you spend enough time roaming through its labyrinthine corridors, you're bound to notice (and possibly become dulled by) the fact that websites start to look very similar at times.
In my case, I was doing some personal research into the interactivity and usability of eCommerce websites. My journey began by looking at sites built on different platforms such as BigCommerce, 3dcart, Big Cartel, and Shopify. I narrowed the results down to one platform, Shopify, to showcase some websites that inspired me to think more strategically about the journey of an online shopper. Here's what I found. Enjoy, and let me know if (and how) these sites inspire you...
I hope the above eCommerce website examples have inspired you as much as they did me. As a takeaway, I'll leave you to think about a concept that my colleague, Chris Horton, has put together regarding eCommerce and how that term is quickly being redefined. Check out his musings in this blog article, "Note to Businesses: We're All in eCommerce Now."
If you have any other examples of inspiring eCommerce websites that I should know about, by all means comment below with a link to the site(s) and I'll check them out!
